LPGA Epson Championship at Copper Rock

Many of our Bloomington Country Club members participated and generously gave of their time during the Copper Rock Championship golf tournament on April 21-23, 2022.  This tour is sponsored by Epson and is considered the road to the LPGA for qualified ladies.  Watching these young ladies up close and personal was thrilling.  Their drives average 275 yards!!!  They are meticulous about their putting, and it was a pleasure to see so many folks excited to help them achieve their dream of becoming professional golfers.  

There were 120 women golfers from 30 different countries.  The winner took home $30,000 of the tournaments $200,000 purse.

Copper Rock Ownership signed a 5-year extension with Epson Tour this week and they have one year left on their contract, so we can look forward to at least 6 more years of amazing young women coming to our beautiful area to play in this Championship tournament.  The weather was decent two out of the three days, but on Friday, Mother Nature threw us all for a loop with rain, wind, cold, and sleet.  Despite the weather, our volunteer team from Bloomington and all over Washington County hung in there with smiles, laughter, shivering, teeth chattering and interesting attire (including blankets and ponchos).  When this tournament kicks off again next year, please consider volunteering and making Bloomington Country Club proud of supporting our community and fellow golfers.
